It's Wednesday evening and you find yourself rushing to drop your youngest off at practice, just to run to the bank and post office and hit the grocery store down the street just to race back and pick him/her up knowing that you have 15 minutes to get home so that you can put the food away quick before the P.T.A. meeting starts in 25 minutes. - Sound familiar? we have ALL been there - and if you haven't, YOU DESERVE A MEDAL!
We live in a time where we are looking for the fastest routes to get to our destinations, the fastest internet speeds to allow all of our devices to stream properly, the fastest food that we can grab on the go to ensure we will not be late to another thing again. The truth is, taking a deep breath and realizing controlled chaos is in your reach!
"Time is what we want most, but spend worst" - William Penn
Putting things that don't seem very fun or important today, could dramatically change the outcome of your work week. Just like Pandora Poikilos says, "Procrastination is the foundation of all disasters." Many times you see people scramble all week and sit all weekend!
Make a plan and take action!
I encourage you to break your cycle, be productive when you don't have to. Get to the grocery store and plan your meals based on the ads you get that week. Instead of racing to the grocery store during practice, use the ads to make lists of the places you will go and what to buy, not only does this set a meal plan for the week, it saves time and money and helps save the extra "splurging" on too many things that don't belong in the cart.
Meal prep on Sunday; make a big batch of stir fry or meal prep chicken that you can cut up and toss on a salad or in anything that you may need later in the week. Put healthy snacks in baggies so you have healthy choices when you are on the go. Stick a meal in the crock pot on low, so when you come home you have a warm nutritious meal.
Utilize the grocery shopping apps from your phone, not only are you saving time and money - you are shopping locally and giving someone job security.
Tips:
Prioritize your week.
Write things down - make a list.
Do the harder tasks first thing Monday so by Friday, it is easier on you.
Wake up 30 minutes earlier than normal and make it a routine.
Daily personal development - helps get your mind and soul uplifted and positive daily.
Set out clothes for the house the night before.
Set the timer on the coffee pot so it auto brews.
Warm up your meal prepped egg cups (1 minute nutritional breakfast) or drink a shake.
Set a timer for 15 min & 5 min till you need to leave to be sure you don't have to speed.
Be organized - (stop causing more stress to your own life)
