GIRLS PLAY FOOTBALL TOO!

Hey Friends! How are you all doing?

I wanted to bring my followers here up to speed, because I know there are a few people that read and do not follow me on my other social media sites! Your girl (me) did something CRAZY!! :-) (IMAGINE THAT, RIGHT?) - I decided to go to a football tryout because I figured, WHY NOT? Wouldn't that be cool to play football as a girl? I am not talking flag football either, FULL PADS AND HELMET, the whole shebang! So I DID! I did it afraid and tried out and GUESS WHAT?? - I MADE THE TEAM! Can you believe that? I was ecstatic when I got the e-mail! Needless to say, I am on a mission to spread awareness that this is a real thing and maybe can have a hand in helping this sport be played nationally!

I am a beginner, I have never played before - but I have played other sports and so I know what it takes to get prepared! I am super competitive and so I hope that drives me into all 4 quarters when I do play in my first game! My coaches have been willing to teach us from a basic elementary fundamental point of view! I have learned so much over the past couple of weeks about the game, it is awesome! What I also discovered is that one of my all time favorite quotes has never been so true!! "NEVER FORGET HOW WILDLY CAPABLE THAT YOU ARE!"

I feel like when we are kids, we are told all of these crazy things that limit our beliefs and our potential! We start to believe that it is not possible to be successful at things that we may enjoy doing! I could never imagine being in high school and trying out for the football team and that is just sad! There is NO REASON that a woman has to feel less than because of their gender! Glass ceilings for women are being broken left and right these days (we have a woman sitting as the Vice President for crying out loud!) - I hope this gives other women and girls out there the hope and encouragement that they can be DIFFERENT! Life is too short to not take chances and to have regrets! You only have one life to live, so why not live it in the best way possible? I encourage you all to take more chances, try out for a football team if you want - or whatever kind of team you think it would be awesome to be a part of, go on that spur of the moment trip, push yourself to the next level, do things that are not comfortable and live your life to the fullest!
