Good Morning Beautiful friends! I wanted to give you a couple of tips that have really helped me get back on track in this journey of mine! I also wanted to add a few GAME CHANGERS that have really helped as far as grocery finds! I LOVE coffee, not necessarily the caffeine effects - but, the TASTE! I love the warmth it brings during the cold months here in IA! What I have found that I love adding are the skinny syrups or whipped cream and a truvia pouch.
I am a pasta girl, so the edamame noodle is a decent lower carb option that gives similar consistency as noodles! I also will put my sauce over steamed broccoli or zoodles (zucchini noodles).
GREEK YOGURT is obviously the healthier choice - if I have one, I am totally going for the TOO GOOD BRAND! Sugar Free Choc Chips (Hersheys) - I toss a couple of these in my vanilla yogurt sometimes, I may toss a couple in my fruit "treat" that I make when I do a little spray whipped cream and add strawberries, blueberries and sprinkle a couple of those on - I also may toss a couple in my protein shakes sometimes! Seasonings: FOCUS ON SALT FREE (Mrs. Dash or Aldi carries generic!), lots of black pepper, pink himalayan salt if I do add any! For sweetener (1 do 1 pkt in my coffee - TRUVIA) tastes great and is from the Stevia Leaf so is NATURAL which is a better choice vs the artificial sweeteners that are most commonly used! Night time tea:
MY FAVORITE: Sweet and Spicy Good Earth! (Thanks Leora! :-) ) I am a HIGE chips and salsa girl - so I like to make fresh guac all the time! I use the guac for my burrito bowls and lettuce wrapped tacos and as my healthy fat for lots of my meals! I will have a couple pork rinds every now and again as my "chip" or I will cut a carb balance tortilla into triangles and toss them with a small amount of olive oil drizzled in the air fryer and BAM - healthier tortilla chips. TACO LOVER HERE!! - I try and do more taco and burrito bowls now, but the egg thins and carb balance shells really help with I want a wrap or taco of some sort!
FRESH VEGGIES: Make sure you have fresh veggies cut up and ready to go, easy access is needed sometimes so have a baggie with some goodies so if you are on the run - you are grabbing a bag of veggies rather than a bag of chips! MEAL PREP!! This is so important because it is easier to stay on track! Failing to plan is like planning to fail! Need some meal prep tips? MOVEMENT EVERY DAY! Do you have to be a gym rat? NO - you can just walk! Pace inside of your house if you have to, as long as you get those steps in! I had a goal of 10K steps - once I was meeting that most days for awhile, I up'd it to 15K! ~ I LOVE doing my elliptical and treadmill as a warm-up and a close out to my workouts, but STREGTH TRAINING is where you are going to see the TONE and GAINS in the muscles! The reason that strength training/weights are SO IMPORTANT is because your body will burn more, due to the muscles that you do have! Your body also is working to repair any strain that you put on those muscles which helps fat burn! PATIENCE:
This is THE KEY to your success! This is a JOURNEY and definitely no a race! SLOW AND STEADY will keep the weight loss off long term! You will see a more drastic drop on the scale at the beginning, but if you lost 1 pound a week for a year, that is 52 pounds! This is HUGE!! The SCALE is A LIAR: STOP focusing on the SCALE! The NSV (non scale victories) of this journey are SO MUCH better!

THE WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT IS A CALORIC DEFECIT, SO GET YOURSELF THERE! SOMETIMES KETO OR LOW CARB MAKES IT EASIER TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE - BUT THE TRUTH IS, LOG YOUR INTAKE BECAUSE BEING IN A CALORIE DEFECIT IS THE KEY TO MAKE THE WEIGHT LOSS HAPPEN!
What I do is aim for less than 60 carbs a day, meanwhile consuming roughly 1800 - 1900 calories a day!
A good rule of thumb is to take your GOAL WEIGHT *12 and aim for that deficit, continue to lower the calorie intake down as you go.
Supplementation:
For me, this is a KEY component in my weight loss! My system helps me with my cravings and with my overeating and unhealthy habits as well as has KICKED MY SUGAR dependency and soda dependency! They have boosted my immune system, given me a boost in energy during my day and help me get a better fully rested night of sleep, every single night - which has helped me SO MUCH!
